Tica Linda means "beautiful Costa Rican woman," and this lot belongs to the women who grow it. In Tarrazú, Costa Rica's most celebrated coffee region, women smallholders farm at 1,600 meters on red clay soil. Their women-produced lots earn them the higher price and recognition their work has long been denied. The coffee is honey processed at the historic Beneficio San Diego, a mill founded in 1888. In the cup, bittersweet chocolate and brown sugar meet a bright lift of grapefruit. It's a cup for slow, unhurried mornings.
