Abakundakawa means "those who love coffee." In 2008, this cooperative in Rwanda's northern highlands became the first Café Femenino program in Africa, and the women of Hingakawa have been building something of their own ever since: coffee they grow, harvest, and are paid for directly. Their care shows in the cup, with jasmine, Earl Grey, and a bright lemon finish. Best as a pour over, enjoyed slowly.
